Problems in Education field

Different types of problems occurring in education field-

Introduction-

The education is necessary to develop personality of the human being. Every human being starts learning since birth till the death. We are learning some and the other thing at every moment. The process of learning depends on many factors. These factors may make the process of learning very effective or may create some issues to damage that process. Hence the learning teaching process is very important. The issues or hurdles created in education process can be removed by the research. The teacher has to find out solution and remedy for the issue or hurdle. The research means finding the solution to the problem. The action taken by teacher to solve these hurdles or problems in teaching learning process in scientific way is called as action research.

Different types of problems occurring in education field-

Every educational institute has its own rules and regulations. All institutes are not identical. The problems arising in every institute may be different. The teacher, students and even management faces problems. These problems may be related to the teaching or may be other than teaching.

a)      Problems related to the students-

1.       Intelligence level –There are average, below average, intelligent and god gifted children in every class. This variation in intelligence level creates problem in the class. Teacher has to use content in such way that all types of students enjoy the education and acquire maximum knowledge in this teaching learning process.  This factor creates lots of problem to the teacher.

2.       Health issues- There are strong, week and unhealthy students in the class. There may be problems related to vision and hearing to the students. This causes problem in reading from blackboard. Students are unable to hear what teacher is teaching in the class. Strong children are over active in the class which also causes problem in teaching learning process. The week students unable to concentrate on teaching learning process due to lack of energy in them.

3.       Economic problems- The students in the class are of different economic level. This develops superiority in rich students and inferiority complex in poor and middle class students. This is also a big hurdle in teaching learning process.

4.       Working students-There may be students in a class who are supporting their family by working. These students remain absent and lack behind in study.

5.       Language diversity- The teacher should give equal status to all languages. Placing value on students’ different languages increases the self confidence and self-esteem which is necessary for teaching learning process. The students gain more comprehensive understanding of the subject when they learn with students from diverse languages. The reverse effect of language diversity is children feel aloof if his language has not been given importance in the classroom. The teacher has inadequate time to see each students need as per his language.

b)      Problems related to the teachers-

1.       Overburden of work- Lot of work is allotted to each teacher other than teaching. The energy of teacher gets exhausted due to overburden of work and affects the teaching learning process. 

2.       Lack of knowledge- This is also a big problem which affects teaching learning process badly. The insufficient knowledge of teacher unable to satisfy queries of students.

3.       Non co-operation of administration-Teacher loose interest due to less co-operation of administration.

4.       Lack of teaching material and facilities- The teaching aids are required to enhance teaching learning process. The teacher is unable to develop clarity about the concept among the students due to lack of teaching material. This affects the teaching learning process.

5.       Health issues- The teacher is unable to perform her teaching duty due to the health problem. Teacher is unable to complete the syllabus due to health issues. This affects teaching learning process.

6.       Safe environment- The school environment should be healthy and safe. The person working and studying there should feel safe. The anxiety about safety affects teaching learning process.

7.       Salary issues- The management of many schools does not pay appropriate salary as per government rules. The teacher does not get job satisfaction due to this which naturally affects teaching learning process.

8.       Lack of motivation- The administrator should appreciate the work of teachers which boosts the productivity and performance of the teacher. Lack of motivation creates lethargy in the working style of teacher which directly affects the teaching learning process.

c)       Problems due to administration and management-

1.       Insufficient staff- The number of teachers should be as per the number of students. The less number of teachers unable to complete the syllabus. This create problem in teaching learning process.

2.       Insufficient space and time- The class arrangement should be as per the number of students in a class. The more students and less seating arrangement of students in a class creates problem in teaching learning process. There should be sufficient space in the rows of benches so that teacher can move around in a class to give individual attention to the students. Time management is very important in teaching learning process otherwise it create a problem.

3.       Less number of urinals and toilets- There is the effect of less number of urinals and toilets on learning teaching process.

4.       Inexperienced administrator or Principal- The reputation of whole education institute depends on the capability of the administrator or principal. The experienced administrator manages every activity of school in a perfect way. This creates confidence about school in the students, teachers and parents. The inexperienced administrator unable to manage the system and this affects the reputation of the school.

5.       Unhealthy atmosphere- Unhealthy atmosphere can affect student’s health, attendance, concentration and performance.

6.       Lack of sufficient facilities for students and teachers- The facilities like library with sufficient books, laboratory with sufficient equipment, music room, medical room etc supports the good performance of the students. Lack of these facilities creates problem to the teacher and it affects the teaching learning process.

d)      Problems related to execution-

1.       Lack of knowledge- The good subject knowledge is necessary for teachers. The lack of subject knowledge affects teaching learning process. The good administrator or principal should be through with the subject knowledge as well as should have good knowledge about the rules and regulation of the school working. Inexperienced administrator is unable to solve the problems arise in day to day working due to lack of knowledge.

2.       Lack of sufficient facilities- The books, equipment, sports material, teaching aids should be sufficient in number so that teacher and students get it easily to use. Lack of these facilities create problem in execution of activities and study.

3.       Lack of in service training- New researches going on related to curriculum and teaching method suggest new tools and techniques for better performance of the teacher as well as the students. Lack of in service training to the teacher creates problem to the teacher to teach new changes in the curriculum.

4.       Health problems and malnutrition of the students- The teacher is unable to teach the students if some of them are ill or have malnutrition problem. These students are unable to concentrate on studies due to health issues and this creates problem in execution of teaching properly.

5.       Geographical variability- The Many times the students are unable to understand the content in the syllabus as there is no exposure to them of that kind. This is the problem related to rural area. Hence the geographical variability is also a main issue in teaching learning process.

6.       Illiteracy of parents- The students did not get the help about their study problem at home and hence they lack behind the study. The parents are not serious and do not have importance of the study matter of their wards due to their illiteracy.

     These are some of the sources of problems in education field. Some of the problem are solved by the teachers, administrators and management of the school. They plan the action suitable to the problem and try to solve it by systematic way. The process followed for solving this is action research.
