Tips to identify research problems 



Research problems are of three types.

1. Descriptive- This problem pertains to difficulties that need to solve.

2. Relational- This focus on the relationship between two or more than two factors.

3. Casual- this problem focus on cause and effect.

A research problem is a statement about the field concern and researcher wants to find

 the solution to it. Research problem is the situation to be improved which may be

 about students, school and even teacher herself/ himself. Research problem is

 a specific condition, difficulty arose in teaching learning process.

Teacher should have love about teaching profession, students and

 her/his school then only she/he will recognize the problems and

 think to solve them.

1.       Continuous observation of the students during teaching learning process to explore the problem.

2. Keeping records of indoor outdoor observation of the students.

3. Logical thinking on the record maintained.

4. Interaction with colleagues and experts about the drawbacks observed.

5. Interaction and free talks with the students regarding the drawbacks observed.

6. Interaction with the parents regarding the drawbacks observed as well as to know the problem of parents regarding their wards, school and teachers.

7. Reviewing related literature and recommendations for future studies mentioned in report of previous researchers.

8. Recognizing a problem with the needs and demands of the society due to change in science and technology.

9. The problem should have positive and practical impact.

10. The research problem should be related to current needs in the field.

11. The research problem should be unique and original. 

12. The research problem should decide the proper direction.

   13. The researcher should be able to solve the problem with his own

            abilities and available resources.

   14. Preparing list of problem as per the priority.

   15. Identifying cause and effect of the drawbacks observed.

   16. Widening of the focus.

   17. Defining the boundaries of the problem.
